My First Belt!!!!!!

I've just been awarded my first belt in Bujinkan! *does happy dance* it's a nice red one and to celebrate I've finally bought my black Gi to go with it. Had to do quite a bit of altering though but it's all sorted and the full outfit got it's first try-out on Thursday. It's a bit warm for my liking but hey, it looks good; you'd almost imagine that I knew what I was doing *snigger*

Just finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, brilliant book and couldn't put it down. It's started me off on a reading spree again and today I was out buying books again in Borders. I got the standard Stargate Atlantis: Reliquary by Martha Wells (Fandemonium books are highly recommended if you're a Stargate fan), Oathblood by my favourite author Mercedes Lackey and a couple that just looked interesting. One's The Clan of The Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel and I've been looking at this one for ages thinking I'd like to read that but never got around to it, Watching the Tree by Adeline Yen Mah it just caught my eye and was only £2.99 so I thought what the heck.

Last month me and Carl at work decided to have a little lightsabre duel and of course The Mighty Squish just had to get in on the action.

Also check out this picture I took of the Atlantis gate we made at Pegasus 1, isn't it COOL!

Experiment in Sleep Deprivation Continued.....

This is just a short rundown of Sunday and Monday so that I can fit the pix in *grin* Cracking Stewards picture this time dontcha think?

Up again for breakfast at 7.30am *ugh* and pretty much just sat in on the Q&A sessions all morning but just after lunch I was stewarding again but by this time I was not on this planet! Ivy and Joe had to leave early to catch flights so they'd set up a table under the stairwell in one of the doorways (quite a big area actually) and I had to keep the queue in line and moved up, make sure everyone understood that we needed to hurry and to have all their stuff ready to sign and hand out post its if need be. At first for Ivy it was OK and we got through hers pretty quickly and then *sigh* Joe was there signing away and I was very quickly turning into a small child who'd been given far too much sugar. At several points whilst moving people along and talking to them I ended up doing little dances (charleston more often than not) in my Mad Fish boots and quite a few times people laughed and said I was quite entertaining *dies of embarrasment* it was a case of 'OK everyone move along nothing to see here, come on get up close and personal with your neighbour, he/she won't bite and I'm sure he/she/it has used deoderant today so come on move up' it was all very silly but I could not have done any different at the time *snigger* Oh my!
The closing ceremony brought the house down and it always seem so sad afterwards because lots of people leave on the Sunday and you know that the whole beautiful thing has come to an end but then .............the final party!!!
I remember dancing a lot and sitting up with the Chef's for a while but I left to get some sleep around about 4.00am although I'd quite happily have stayed up longer if I didn't have to drive back home on the Monday. Matti's ride home had an emergency and had to leave early so I offered to drop her off in Birmingham on my way home so I actually got someone to keep me company for part of the journey, it was great. I did have to wait for her to say goodbye to everybody though which took until about 12.00am on the Monday and by which time I'd drunk a whole pot of filter coffee in the bar and retired to the car to try and get 40 winks before driving off.......it worked. Finally got home exhausted but soooooo happy and over the moon at 4pm on the Monday. Just look at the pictures I got...

Me and Aaron Douglas - Chief Tyrol (BSG) and one helluva guy to have around at a party.

Me and Craig Veroni - Peter Grodin (SGA) I really wish he hadn't died on that satelite.

Me and Rainbow Sun Francks - Lt. Aiden Ford (SGA) a real Gangsta type and so much fun

Me and Jason Momoa - Ronon Dex (SGA) The guy is ace I love him to bits, larger than life and in this photo bobbing down whilst I'm standing on tip-toes *snigger* what can I say......he's nearly as tall as Dan (Payne) and a real teddy bear. Gotta love the dreads!!!

Finally the man himself Joe Flanigan - Lt. Col. John Sheppard seen here sitting down because like me the man has knee problems *rassssp*

Only 22 weeks to go before Galactica but I can tell I'll still be remembering bits and pieces from Pegasus 1 well into the months ahead.

Ahl sithee!
